Beautiful mahogany doors and peace of mind

Mahogany DoorsWoodHavenDoors.com is committed to the protection of the rain forest, one of the Earth's most precious resources. We strictly manage our timber concessions, only working with mills that utilize timber from forests that are strictly controlled and reforested. We enforce a policy of strict compliance with all foreign government regulations. Additionally, none of the wood species used to produce our hardwood doors is on the endangered list. Rest assured that our African or Honduran mahogany doors came from tightly controlled environments and in no way contributed to the detriment of the rain forest.

Attractive and insulating hardwood doors

Nothing beats the warmth and beauty of a wooden door, which will change and grow in character as the years pass. With a modicum of care, your door will last a lifetime or longer. But the benefits of a wood door extend far beyond the aesthetics. Because hardwood doors contain a relatively high air volume, they are an excellent insulator. Millions of tiny honeycomb cells between the wood fibers hold air, making the door an exponentially more effective insulator than steel. Because wood doesn't conduct hot or cold like many man-made materials, it is much less susceptible to thermal bowing and the damage associated with this phenomenon. Direct sunlight and water exposure may take their toll on mahogany doors, as well as other wood species. Ultraviolet rays and moisture may dull the finish or crack the caulk around the door unit. Every 12 to 18 months, it's a good idea to lightly sand the door's exterior with very fine sandpaper, wipe it down with a paint thinner-dampened cloth, and apply a single coat of marine spar varnish or polyurethane. It's really a very simple, straightforward way to protect your investment and keep it looking fabulous for years to come.
